Stem asxinu- + ending -{ singular (one) . Hla- + -{

Old ending for dual (two) + -x:

Asxinux hilakux. The (two) girls are reading.

Hlax hilakux. The (two) boys are reading.

Old singular forms:

isu{ = isu}i{ seal; plural isu{is.

qahmix = qahmigi{ door; plural qahmigis.

qagmang = qagmangi{ emperor goose; plural qagmanqis.

These were consonant stems, that is, sterns ending in a consonant:

isu{, isu}- + -is

qahmix, qahmig- + -is

qagmang, qagmang- + -is

The words asxinu{ and hla{ have vowel stems, stems ending in a vowel:

asxinu-, hla-. Likewise the modern forms isu}i{, qahmigi{, qagmangi{, isu}i-, qahmigi-, qagmangi- + singular -{, plural -s.
