Life of the Land
Module Two

Origins:  Pathways into your bioregion

Some Background Considerations

Determining sources

People
Goods
Services

Distribution systems
Governmental agencies
Economic agencies
Communication systems
Place naming

The Origins Module can be very effective by simply making an inventory within some convenient space--a classroom or a kitchen--and then itemizing everything in that space, including the building materials and furniture and the people.  Of each object on the list it can be asked:  Where on earth did this object originate?  What is the pathway (physical) by which it got to this space?  By what agencies was that route facilitated?  And so forth.

The other side of this is the Emanations Module, but those questions would focus more on what was once here and not on what has gone to another bioregion.
