WHAT TO TEACH:

OVERVIEW

Students will combine the information they have gathered, in order to learn where the village gets the two resources in question.

MATERIALS:

1. maps from students' interviews.

2. extra set of maps for combining information.

3. students' notes.

HOW TO TEACH: Preparation

Explain how to make a composite map. Tell students that some of the information they collected will have to be left out of the composite map, so that it will not be too cluttered.

Class Activity

Students will decide how they will show information on the

composite map(s).

Students will mark the maps.

Students will mark significant Yup'ik names for lakes, rivers, hills,

etc., where there is room on the composite map.
