1. U.S.G.S maps (one set for each group). 2. felt-tipped markers. 3. note pads and pens or pencils. |

Class Activity |
Students will conduct interviews, take notes, and have people mark their areas/sites on the maps, using the symbols they have chosen. |

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS Don't forget! |
Encourage students if they seem shy. Choose examples from questionnaires for tomorrow's orthography class. Placenames mentioned in interviews may also be used. |
