How to conduct an interview

Explain that students will be:

1. Interviewing people about the two resources they have chosen.

2. Making maps that show when/where these resources are found.

Class Activity

Decide what information students wish to collect (see list of questions under DAY-BY-DAY: Mapmaking - DAYS 11-18).

Review suggestions for conducting interviews from Yup'ik ON THE AIR, including note-taking.

Decide who students will interview.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS Don't forget!

Arrange interviews with people well in advance. Explain the class project, set up times, and be sure the people understand what they will be asked.
